Polykarp Kusch (CSAS 31, HON 56)

Polykarp Kusch was the co-winner of the 1955 Nobel Prize in Physics. He was recognized for precisely measuring that the “magnetic moment of the electron was greater than its theoretical value. The magnetic moment refers to the combined value of strength and orientation of an object that exerts a magnetic field. Kusch House, a residence hall in the South Residential Village, is named in his honor.
