Faculty Biography
Erik Jensen鈥檚 areas are taxation, business planning, and American Indian law. His recent publications include 鈥淒id the Sixteenth Amendment Ever Matter? Does It Matter Today?鈥� (Northwestern University Law Review 2014); 鈥淎 Question Important to Investors (Whether They Realize It or Not): Is Realization a Constitutional Requirement for Income Taxation?鈥� (Journal of Taxation of Investments 2013); and 鈥淟egislative and Regulatory Responses to Tax Avoidance: Explicating and Evaluating the Alternatives鈥� (St. Louis University Law Journal 2012). Jensen clerked for Judge Monroe G. McKay of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit and practiced in New York with Sullivan & Cromwell before joining our faculty in 1983. He was coordinating editor of the Journal of Legal Education from 1992 and 1998, and he currently edits the Journal of Taxation of Investments.
