Matthew H. Levin is a DM Fellow, Fowler Center for Business as an Agent of World Benefit, at Weatherhead School of Management. Professionally, he is a CPA and Tax Partner at Windham Brannon, P.C., one of the largest privately-owned CPA firms in 365bet体育在线世界杯lanta, GA. Matt grew up in South Florida and then attended Florida State University in Tallahassee, entering as a long-haired music major and emerging five years later with a Bachelors in Accounting and Finance. His entire professional career has been in 365bet体育在线世界杯lanta 鈥� commencing with Coopers & Lybrand (now PricewaterhouseCoopers, one of the Big 4鈥� international CPA firms). Matt then entered Corporate America as Vice President of Corporate Tax at Days Inns of America, Inc., at the time owned by a New York-based private equity firm and which subsequently went public.
During his career, Matt earned two Masters Degrees 鈥� a Masters of Tax from Georgia State University (GSU) and later an Executive MBA from GSU. In his personal life, Matt has been a certified scuba diver and cave diver for 40 years. Matt has logged over 900 dives 鈥� ocean reef and freshwater cave. During these four decades, he has observed first-hand the environmental degradation which has occurred on marine reefs and in fresh water spring systems. This 鈥� together with his Executive MBA course in Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainability 鈥� was the catalyst in Matt鈥檚 epiphany about how businesses must have a seat at the table along with government and society in solving today鈥檚 global environmental and social challenges.
Matt is in the PhD in Management: Designing Sustainable Systems Program at Weatherhead. His research interest is in connecting corporate sustainability initiatives with resulting financial performance. As well, during the past 25 years Matt has served on a variety of civic nonprofit Boards: The High Museum of Art, The Georgia Shakespeare Festival, The Urban League of Greater 365bet体育在线世界杯lanta, and most recently Star*C Corporation (). Star*C鈥檚 mission is to help economically disadvantaged community residents overcome problems associated with community decline, thereby creating a flourishing environment for all. In his spare time,鈥� Matt teaches a graduate course in the Masters of Accounting Program at GSU.
