Kimberly McFarlin, LISW, is assistant dean of student services and career planning and a clinical instructor at the Mandel School. She leads the Office of Student Services and Career Planning and plays a key role on the associate dean鈥檚 leadership team, representing student affairs on school, university and national committees. Her work is centered on fostering a collaborative, student-focused environment to promote success and retention.

Under McFarlin鈥檚 leadership, the school has implemented several innovative retention initiatives, including the hybrid online/in-person student orientation, the Lunch and Learn series for student engagement, and the SPOT Check Program to proactively support student progress throughout the semester.

With nearly 20 years of leadership experience across clinical and community practice settings, McFarlin has focused on developing homeless programs for women and children, leading health prevention efforts, managing nonprofits, initiating fundraising for capacity building and supporting neighborhood-based community development.

She has completed training and certification programs in diversity and inclusion, emotional intelligence, women in leadership and sustained dialogue. Her experience with international students includes prior roles as field faculty advisor and director of international affairs. She continues to advise the LINK (Local InterNational Konnection) student group and teaches the Spoken English and International Support Seminar, maintaining active engagement with local and global social issues.
