Field Education

Robert Lieberman is a field faculty advisor at the Mandel School. After graduate school, he returned to Northeast Ohio to pursue his commitment to working with children and families.

Lieberman spent over 19 years at Bellefaire JCB, beginning as a licensed group facilitator in the After School Program, which provided day treatment services for children with behavioral and mental health needs. He later assumed clinical and administrative oversight roles, coordinating transportation services, serving as the department鈥檚 crisis supervisor and participating in the agency鈥檚 Environment of Care committee. In 2006, he began supervising staff and mentoring social work students as a field instructor, sparking a long-standing passion for field education and student development.

Following his time at Bellefaire, Lieberman worked as a behavioral health counselor at the Achievement Centers for Children, serving children with disabilities and their families. His experience reflects a deep commitment to supporting children鈥檚 mental health and helping the next generation of social workers grow in their practice.
