Every year, Case Western Reserve University School of Law honors the achievements of distinguished alumni, faculty and prominent members of the legal community by inducting new members to the Society of Benchers â€� the law school’s Hall of Fame.

In his role as President of the American Branch of the International Law Association (ABILA), CWRU School of Law Co-Dean Michael Scharf chaired the opening plenary panel and presided over International Law Weekend on Oct. 19-21.

Adjunct professor Ted Parran III (LAW '13) is an Assistant United States 365betÌåÓýÔÚÏßÊÀ½ç±­torney in McAllen, Texas. McAllen is a rapidly growing border city in deep south Texas, and is a focal point for transnational criminal activity of many kinds, including human smuggling.

From Nov. 3-5, the Ault Mock Trial Team competed in the White Collar Crime Invitational Tournament hosted by Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, DC. This competition is invitation-only and focuses on white collar criminal cases. This was the team's first time competing at the invitational.

Case Western Reserve University School of Law Co-Deans Jessica Berg and Michael Scharf have been selected as the recipients of the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Foundation’s 2024 Richard W. Pogue Award for Leadership and Engagement.

It was a busy weekend this year at the School of Law on homecoming weekend. On Friday night, 13 new members were inducted into the Society of Benchers at their 60th induction ceremony.

Case Western Reserve University is launching a new program to capitalize on commercializing innovations arising from the burgeoning field of regenerative medicine.  The program, which will begin this fall, is a collaboration between the School of Medicine and School of Law.

From Oct. 26 through Oct. 28, the Ault Mock Trial Team competed in the Tournament of Champions hosted by the University of Houston Law Center in Houston, Texas. This competition is sponsored by the National Board of Trial Advocacy.

After a decade spent steering the School of Law from recovery to resurgence, co-deans Jessica Berg and Michael Scharf have chosen to step down from their leadership roles this coming summer. 

For students interested in appellate practice, this fall has offered exciting opportunities right here on campus.

On Oct. 25, Leila Sadat of Washington University School of Law delivered the 2023 Klatsky Endowed Distinguished Lecture in Human Rights and received the Cox International Law Center Humanitarian Award for Advancing Global Justice.

Francesca E. Veres can trace her roots at Case Western Reserve University all the way back to the 1940s when her grandfather was a student at Case Institute of Technology.

Adjunct Professor Susan Hatters-Friedman recently won the Seymour J. Pollack Distinguished Achievement Award at the American Academy of Psychiatry and the Law's annual meeting in Chicago. The award is given to forensic psychiatrists who have made distinguished contributions to the teaching and educational functions of forensic psychiatry.

Third-year law students at Case Western Reserve University School of Law take part in an intensive real-world experience during their capstone courses. 3L Olivia Cobb is undertaking a full-time, self-arranged capstone with Diné be’iiná Náhiiłna be Agha’diit’ahiim, otherwise known as DNA People's Legal Service in Window Rock, Arizona.
