Your Classes

Our flexible program offers two levels of certification鈥擫evel 1 and Level 2 (advanced)鈥攚hich you can earn by taking up to three courses per semester. 

The Level 1 certificate gives you the option to select three courses to complete from the following certificate set:

• FNCE 430 - Derivatives and Risk Management
• FNCE 404 - Financial Modeling
• FNCE 435 - Empirical Finance

If you have not taken a financial management class previously, it is required that you enroll in a compulsory course such as MBAP 405 -H (Online) - Financial Management, MBAP 405 - Financial Management I, or FNCE 421 Corporate Financial Analysis as part of the Level I certificate.

To obtain the advanced certificate, you'll complete all coursework from the Level 1 certificate set, in addition to selecting two advanced courses in:

• FNCE 431 - Fixed Income Markets and Their Derivatives
• FNCE 433 - Quantitative Risk Modeling
• FNCE 434 - Financial Analytics and Banking

Credit hours from the certificates will count towards the degree, when a student switches from a non-degree certificate to degree seeking, after completing all available levels of a certificate.

Certificate Application Deadlines

To receive a decision by the Notification Date listed, you must submit and complete your application by the corresponding Application Deadline. The Admissions Committee will not issue an offer of admission if an application package remains incomplete.
